Weekly update

Well that's Christmas down for another year, and a rather different one it was for so many of us around the world. I'm live again! Well, I was live having found enough connectivity in Port Douglas to go back to streaming. I'll still be here next week too and will plan on doing a Christmas morning stream from the same location. I talk a bunch about the trip and what I'm seeing in Aus in the latter part of this video, it's a truly amazing place I'm only just getting to really see extensively now. Well this is different; a weekly update bereft of neon studio lighting and instead done from the great outdoors, complete with all sorts of animal noises and a (probably) drunk green tree frog. What. A. Week. Blog post every day, massive uptick in comments, DMs, newsletter subscribers, followers and especially, blog traffic. More than 200,000 unique visitors dropped by this week, mostly to read about IoT things. This week, I've finally got a workable mobile setup with sufficient quality audio and video. As I explain in the video, this is ultimately achieved by the Sigma lens feeding into the Sony DSLR then via micro HDMI to the Elgato Cam Link 4K into my laptop via USB which then wifis over to my boat shed access point connected via ethernet over power to the server room and into the network. This week's update had a load of questions so even whilst the planned content didn't consume a lot of time, audience engagement was great and I appreciate all the input. It was a bit of a slow start this week. "Plan A" was to use the new GoPro with the Media Mod [https://gopro.com/en/au/shop/mounts-accessories/hero8-black-media-mod/AJFMD-001.html] (including light and lapel mic) and do an outdoor session. This should really be much easier than it was with multiple issues ranging from connectivity drops to audio sync to simply not having a GoPro to tripod adaptor.
